New Years Eve

We were lucky to be invited to "An Evening in Paris" by the Lake Region Healthcare Foundation on New Years Eve by our friends Jason and Bridget. The girls were able to ring in the new year with Grandpa and Grandma Becker.

The evening consisted of the following:
7:00 Ballroom dancing lessons
8:00 Horsd'oeuvres and music by a String Trio
9:00 Sumptuous Five-Course French Dinner, Espresso Bar and Dancing to the 20-piece MState Jazz Band
12:00 Champagne Toast and the announcements of a trip to Paris and a Diamond Ring.

They had 100 glasses of champagne with a diamond tied to each of them. For $50 you could pick a glass and 1 of the 10o was a real diamond and the others were CZ's. Jason refused all night to buy Bridget one and she REALLY wanted one but it had to be #31 (the date their son was born) He said it wasn't practical and they would never win. Well, he didn't buy her one and the number that was drawn was...#31!!!!! Can you believe it? She could have been walking out of there with a $2,200 diamond. We made sure we gave him a hard time the rest of the time we were there.

Christmas

Christmas started on the 23rd with opening presents between the 4 of us. On Christmas Eve morning we drove to Wadena to my parents. I was expecting the roads to be bad but they weren't too bad at all. We went to church that night with my mom and dad. On Christmas Day, Santa brought a bunch of gifts for the girls. We spent the morning opening presents from Santa and then from each other. My brother was not able to make it but he had sent his gifts with my mom when she babysat Simon a few days earlier.

On Saturday we went to Hancock for the Becker Christmas. We were suppose to start eating/opening gifts at around 11ish but Jay didn't show up until 1:30pm. I guess he had some problems with the furnace and had to shovel. We left Hancock on Sunday around 1pm to head home. It was great to spend time with our family.

I decided I was sick of Emma not keeping her ponytail holder or barrette in her hair, I decided to get her hair cut. They framed her face and gave her bangs but I think they should have cut the bangs more but hey, it is better than nothing!!

Update

WOW, I can't believe it has been over a month since I updated this. I am getting bad...even facebook hasn't been updated!! So I will give a little update from the last month. I will start with Maddie's birthday, she turned 3 this year. I can't believe that it has been 3 years, it feels like just yesterday but then I take a look at her and Emma and it blows my mind on how fast time goes.

I don't think we did much else in November other than celebrating Thanksgiving. We spent Wed night and Thursday day at my parent's. My brother, his wife and son were there. My sister and her hubby couldn't make it this year. It was fun but definitely missed them. On Sunday after Thanksgiving Reggie's side of the family was suppose to come over but at midnight Emma threw up. So I called all of the family in the morning and Ginger and Penny's family decided to stay home, I don't blame them! Emma was fine, she didn't throw up or run a fever ever, so I am not sure what that was all about.

We put up the xmas tree the first weekend of December. It was fun to have Maddie and Emma help.

I think that is pretty much all that has happened. The other pictures are ones that we had someone do. She did Maddie's 3 year, Emma's 18 month and a family picture. They turned out great and it is going to be hard to decide on what ones we want.

I will try to be better at updating things...this semester's class is done on Monday so I am hoping that I can start working on my project and hopefully graduate in may!!!

Pumpkin Carving/Halloween

On the 29th we carved our pumpkins. Daycare gave us 2 that were already cleaned, just needed to be carved so that was nice. It was fun but the kids are definitely not too much into it. Maddie did try to carve her own.

Eveland Family Farm

October 18th we took the girls to Eveland Family Farms. They have a ton of different animals, hayride, corn maze, and pumpkins. The girls had such a great time. I just wish that it wasn't so cold.
